One Day Only: Doubled Donations for the Arts

Maybe you’re the music, theater, art, or band teacher at your school. Perhaps you’re the third-grade teacher who’s always making sure your students have crayons to express themselves; the English teacher who wants costumes for your end-of-year Shakespeare study; or the math and science teacher whose homeroom class begs you to start an after-school guitar club.

You know your students love art and music, and how important the arts are to their development. They’re craving more resources to help them express the funny, creative, brilliant ideas they have.

This is your moment: On January 23, an anonymous supporter of arts education is doubling every donation to Music & the Arts projects on DonorsChoose, for one day only.

Create a Project

Here are your three steps for making the most of this one-day match offer:

  1. Submit an arts project. Check out ideas from teachers around the country who are bringing Music & the Arts into their schools. (Already have a live, approved project requesting resources for Music & the Arts? Make sure your project qualifies at our Help Center.)
  2. Brainstorm the list of supporters who might be interested in helping bring more arts to your school. What local businesses might want to cheer on your musicians this spring? Do you have friends who might get a kick out of your students’ glitter-and-crayon thank you notes?
  3. Spread the word! Folks who love the arts should come support the next generation of young artists on January 23. You can also whip up custom graphics for your project to share on social, hang up fundraising flyers at the local museum and artsy coffee shop, or send an email letting folks know the exciting news.
